Description


Bifacial modules produce photo voltaic electricity from both facets of the panel. Whereas ordinary opaque-backsheeted panels are mono-facial, 72-Cell Bifacial Mono PERC Double Glass Modules expose both the front and bottom of the photo voltaic cells. When bifacial modules are mounted on a relatively reflective floor (like a white TPO roof or on the ground with light-colored stones), some bifacial module producers declare up to a 30% increase in production simply from the extra power generated from the rear.

Bifacial modules come in many designs. Some are framed while others are frameless. Some are dual-glass, and others use clear back sheets. Most use monocrystalline cells, however, there are polycrystalline designs. The one factor that is consistent is that electricity is produced from each side. There are frameless, dual-glass modules that expose the bottom of cells but are now not bifacial. True bifacial modules have contacts/busbars on both the front and lower back facets of their cells.
